Hi I am Phoebe-Jo, a multi-media textile artist based in London and Essex. Creating textile collections inspired by sociological issues of today and looking into historical movements which promote liberation. While also being inspired by the beauty of the natural world.
My goal is to create textile art pieces to inspire change in society and bring across the freedom of individuality. The main techniques I use is embellishment, print, crochet, and graphic design.
I have worked alongside some fashion and art companies during my BA at University of East London (UEL). Such as FCUK x UEL collaboration, interned at Hand&Lock embroidery company and had a commission with Art Acumen. Where I worked alongside UEL and Art Acumen to have a pavement moral painted at the DLR Cyprus entrance in London and leading into the Docklands University campus.
I am currently a free-lance textile artist and a textiles restorer. I have recently completed my Masters Degree (MA) in Textiles Design at Royal College of Art and Graduated in August 2023.
I will have a stall at the This Is Me Artisan Craft and Makers Market on the 06th of July that is taking place at Mersea island.
For general questions, events and commissions.
