Phoebe-Jo Manktelow is a multi-media textile artist based in London and Essex. Creating textile collections inspired by sociological issues of today and looking into historical movements which promote liberation.
Her goal is to create textile art pieces to inspire change in society and bring across the freedom of individuality. The main techniques she uses is embellishment, print, crochet, and graphic design.
She has worked alongside some fashion and art companies during her BA at University of East London (UEL). Such as FCUK x UEL collaboration, interned at Hand&Lock embroidery company and had a commission with Art Acumen. Where she worked alongside UEL and Art Acumen to have a pavement moral painted at the DLR Cyprus entrance and leading into the Docklands University campus.
She is currently a free-lance textile artist that is also working as a textiles restorer. She has recently completed her Masters Degree (MA) in Textiles Design at Royal College of Art and set to Graduate in September 2023.
